Katy Perry concorre por melhor pop, melhor artista feminina, melhor ao vivo, melhor visual e seu single "Dark horse" disputa melhor música e melhor vídeo. 5 Seconds of Summer e Ariana Grande também disputam a categoria de melhor "push", que premia o artista que mais avançou na carreira durante o último ano.
